Violet Banks (3 March 1896 - 2 December 1985) was a Scottish painter, photographer and filmmaker.
Life

Her father was James Banks (1 April 1860 - c. 1929), a farmer and potato merchant from Leslie in Fife.
Her mother was Christina Rose MacBean Ross (30 April 1860 - 12 February 1940) from Dingwall in Ross-shire. She was the daughter of the banker David Ross. James and Christina married on 5 April 1893 in Edinburgh at Balmoral Hotel.[2]
Violet Banks was born on 3 March 1896 in Kinghorn in Fife.[3]

Death
[edit]She died on 2 December 1985 in Edinburgh. The funeral service was at Warriston crematorium on 6 December 1985.[5]
