William Drummond Young (18 April 1854 - 21 May 1924) was a Scottish painter, photographer and cabinet maker.[1][2]
Life
[edit]His father was William Young [Snr] (10 January 1825 - 20 January 1901), a cabinet maker from Denny in Stirlingshire.
His mother was Agnes Drummond (6 September 1830 - 18 July 1862) from Glasgow. William [Snr] and Agnes married on 29 December 1848 in Glasgow.
William Drummond Young was born at 171 Dobbies Loan in Glasgow on 18 April 1854.[3]
He married Margaret Helene O'Donnell (born c. 1850) from Edinburgh. They married on 31 December 1874 at St Mary's Chapel, Broughton Street, Edinburgh.
Their son Edward Drummond Young (13 October 1876 - 28 April 1946) also became an artist.

[edit]He died on 21 May 1924 at 109 Newington Road, Newington in Edinburgh.
His estate was valued at £714, 13 shillings and 9 pence.[6]
