Isabel Wright (11 November 1880 - 30 March 1958) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

Her father was Peter Wright (c. 1839 - 19 February 1893), a farmer from Renfrew. He farmed on Knock farm there.

Her mother was Christina Calder (born 18 July 1840) from Colgrain Farm, Cardross in Argyll.

Isabel Stewart Wright was born in Renfrew on 11 November 1880.[3]

She married Thomas Muir Calder (born 17 September 1881), a farmer's son, originally from Cardross, but moved and later took on Corston Mill farm, Gateside in Fife. Thomas was a cousin of Isabel. His father William Calder (14 April 1838 - 9 May 1917), was the brother of Christina Calder. He originally made the move to take on Corston Mill farm.

The couple later moved south to take on Dunstall Farm, Sevenoaks in Kent, England.

She died on 30 March 1958 at 39 Murrayfield Gardens, Edinburgh.[4]
