John Watson (7 March 1864 - 13 November 1928) was a Scottish painter and master baker.[1][2]

Life

His father was John Watson [Snr] (c. 1845 - 31 March 1913), a baker from Kilmarnock.

His mother was Catherine Galloway Oliver (19 January 1845 - 5 February 1919) from Riccarton, Ayrshire. John [Snr] and Catherine married on 22 January 1864.

John Watson was born on 7 March 1864 in Riccarton, Ayrshire.[3]

He married Anne Jane McNabb (27 April 1869 - 4 November 1919) from Newcastle in County Down in Ireland. They married on 29 December 1890 in Kilmarnock.

After Anne died, John remarried Helen Grieve (c. 1873 - 4 November 1945) from Kilmarnock. They married 25 July 1922 in Kilmarnock.

He helped establish the Kilmarnock Art Club.[5]

Death

He died on 13 November 1928 at his home 32 High Glencairn Street in Kilmarnock.[6]

The value of his estate was given as £859, 3 shillings and 2 pence.[7]
