William Hill Thomson (13 March 1882 - 13 April 1956) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was George Thomson (born c. 1829), a grocer from Sprouston, near Kelso.

His mother was Mary Hill (14 March 1844 - ) from Ayton in Berwickshire, close to the English border. George and Mary married in Duns, Berwickshire on 17 August 1868.

William Hill Thomson was born at 4:30am on 13 March 1882 at 1 Claremont Place in Edinburgh.

He married Margaret Scott Arnot (died 4 October 1990).[3] They married in Leith in 1927.
