Olive Carleton Smyth (11 December 1882 - 2 April 1949) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

Life

Her father was William Hugh Smyth (c. 1836 - 22 December 1893), a jute manufacturer, originally from Ireland.

Her mother was Elizabeth Ramage (born c. 1846) from France. William and Elizabeth married on 14 June 1867 in Blythswood, Glasgow.

Olive Carleton Smyth was born on 11 December 1882 in Anderston, Glasgow.

Her sister Dorothy Carleton Smyth also became an artist.

She died in Cora Linn, 30 Cadzow Drive, Cambuslang on 2 April 1949. The funeral was on 6 April 1949 at Maryhill crematorium.[4]
