Anurag Nath Shukla (also known as Anurag Shukla, Kaviir Shukla, or Anurag Amrit Shukla) is a Nepali social, educational, and political figure from Rupandehi District, Nepal. He is known for his clean public image, multilingual communication skills, and active involvement in humanitarian and political activities across Nepal and northern India.

Early life and background

Shukla was born on 5 April 1993 in Marchwar, Rupandehi, Nepal. He hails from a historically prominent landlord family with ancestral roots in the region. His lineage includes notable figures such as Harivansh Nath Shukla, Rudra Nath Shukla, Narayan Dutt Shukla, and Lakshman Nath Shukla.

He is the son of Amriteshwar Nath Shukla and Maya Devi Shukla. His grandparents include Bijendra Nath Shukla and the late Savitri Devi Shukla.

Education

Shukla holds multiple academic degrees:

  • MBBS Scholar
  • Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science, Education, and History
  • MBA (specializing in Human Resources and Marketing)

He is fluent in Nepali, English, Bhojpuri, and Awadhi, and has basic knowledge of Sanskrit.

Political career

Shukla contested in the 2079 Provincial Assembly Election from Rupandehi Constituency 5(1), registered under candidate number 2586 as per the Election Commission of Nepal. Though initially set for Constituency 4(1), he shifted to 5(1) shortly before the election. He received considerable public support during the campaign.

He is known for his political influence in Rupandehi, Bhairahawa, Marchwar, Lumbini, Gaidahawa, Nawalparasi, and Kapilvastu, as well as cross-border regions in India including Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Nautanwa, and Naugarh.

Social contributions

Shukla has been active in humanitarian efforts:

  • Participated in relief operations during the 2015 Nepal earthquake
  • Provided frontline support during the COVID-19 pandemic
