Syeda Tuba Anwar (born 15 November 1994) is a Pakistani television actress and media personality. She made her acting debut in 2020 with the drama serial Bharaas. She later appeared in Yeh Ishq Samajh Na Aaye (2022) and Baby Baji (2023).
She was previously married to late television host and politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain, who died in 2022.[1][2][3]
Early life and career
[edit]Tuba Anwar was born on 15 November 1994 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, into a Syed family. Her father, Syed Anwar, is a businessman, and she has three older sisters: Rafia, Maria, and Nadia. Before entering the acting industry, she worked behind the scenes in television as a media executive and production team member.[4][5]
She made her acting debut with the drama serial Bharaas (2020–2021), where she played a leading role. In 2022, she appeared in Yeh Ishq Samajh Na Aaye, followed by a notable performance in the family drama Baby Baji (2023), which brought her wider recognition on television.[6][7][8][9]
Personal life
[edit]Tuba Anwar married late television host and politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain (1971—2022) in May 2018 in a private ceremony in Karachi.[10][11] The marriage ended in divorce and was formally announced by Anwar in February 2022. The couple had no children together.[12][13]
After their separation, Anwar became vocal about the criticism and harassment she faced, including social media abuse and public scrutiny.[14][15] She denied accusations of seeking fame through the marriage and urged for respectful discussion around personal choices.[16][17][18]
