Thirukkural is a 2025 Indian Tamil language biographical drama directed by A.J. Balakrishnan, the film is produced under the banner of Ramana Communications.[1]

Production
[edit]The movie was announced in the month of November 2023 The same director previously directed Kamaraj, a biopic of Kamarajar.[3] In an interview to weekly magazine Ananda Vikatan, the director mentioned that the movie is not a biopic about Thiruvalluvar. The movie is more about Thirukkural, the social background during the writing of Thirukkural.[4]
Music
[edit]All the songs were written and composed by Ilaiyaraaja.[5]
Reception
[edit]Rakesh of Times Now rate two out of five star and wrote that "Overall, 'Thirukkural' - praise for the effort!"[6].Dina Thanthi critic wrote that "Director A.J. Balakrishnan has placed the Thiruvalluvar era before our eyes and has incorporated various aspects including love and conflict into it to make it enjoyable.[7]
