The Petersens are an American family band from Branson, Missouri. They perform bluegrass, country, and Christian music, along with mainstream musical covers.[1][2]

Band history

The Petersens began performing in 2005 at the First Christian Church of Mountain Grove, Missouri.[3] They soon expanded to performing at local festivals, churches, and cafés.[4] On September 5, 2010, they won the CAM Gospel Sing-Off at the Sight & Sound Theatre in Branson.[5]

In 2015, banjo player Ellen Petersen competed on Season 14 of American Idol, reaching the Top 48.[6][7][8]

Touring

The Petersens have toured across the United States, Canada, and Europe.[citation needed] In 2019, they toured Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Finland.[9][10]

In March 2025, the band toured New Zealand, performing in locations such as Whangārei, Kerikeri and Thames.[11][12]
