Tenzing is an upcoming biographical drama film about Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, directed by Jennifer Peedom, written by Luke Davies, and starring Tom Hiddleston as Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe as John Hunt. Caitríona Balfe co-stars.

Production
[edit]The film is directed by Jennifer Peedom, who previously directed the 2015 documentary film Sherpa, and written by Luke Davies. It was originally set up at Netflix and Higher Ground Productions in 2021.[1] It is produced by See-Saw Films.[2]
In May 2024, Tom Hiddleston was cast as Edmund Hillary and Willem Dafoe as John Hunt, Baron Hunt with Netflix and Higher Ground no longer attached.[3] That same month, it was confirmed that Apple TV+ had bought the worldwide distribution rights to the film.[4] Caitríona Balfe joined the cast in May 2025.[5] That month, Thinley Lhamo was revealed to have an undisclosed role in the film.[6] Genden Phuntsok joins the cast as Tenzing Norgay in the following month.[7]
Principal photography commenced in Nepal in May 2025, with filming on location in Kathmandu and the Everest region expected to last for a month.[6]
