Please change parent reference to (As per Wikipedia:WikiProject Fishes#Taxonomy):

Nelson, J.S.; Grande, T.C.; Wilson, M.V.H. (2016). Fishes of the World (5th ed.). Hoboken, NJ: John Wiley & Sons. pp. 174–175. doi:10.1002/9781119174844. ISBN 978-1-118-34233-6. LCCN 2015037522. OCLC 951899884. OL 25909650M. Quetzal1964 (talk) 07:52, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To editor Quetzal1964: just a template editor here, not a taxonomist, and forgive me but I don't understand this request. First of all, to change a parent reference one must edit the parent taxonomy template, which is {{Taxonomy/Ostariophysi}} in this case. Secondly, the reference you cited says to use FotW for extinct fish. So is this because the parent is a superorder? I would like to be clear on this, please. P.I. Ellsworth It also says to use FotW for taxonomic levels above that of order. Quetzal1964 (talk) 19:28, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Completed. Thank you very much, editor Quetzal1964, for clarifying! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 20:57, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
