Please change the value of the "parent" parameter to Conchifera. This would simply be inserted as an intermediate level, as it currently shares a parent with this taxon. Animal lover 666 (talk) 21:58, 23 June 2021 (UTC)
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the
{{edit template-protected}}
template. It seems to me that "Conchifera" should appear somewhere on the Gastropoda or its talk page if this is a valid request, but it does not. Perhaps Conchifera should have some references as well. I recommend discussing this request at Talk:Gastropoda. – Jonesey95 (talk) 00:59, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
Protected template edit request, 12 May 2025

I have updated a copy of this template in my personal sandbox, at User:Rwv37/sandbox/Template:Taxonomy/Gastropoda, with two changes:
1. Added a reference (template previously had none).
2. Added {{pp-template}}.
Please note:
1. The "Ancestral taxa" section of the copy in my sandbox does not work properly. This seems to me to be a bug in the interaction between personal sandbox pages and taxonomy templates, or some such thing; this also happened on the one previous edit I made for a protected taxonomy template. In both cases, I copied my markup to the actual template's sandbox page, and in both cases it has worked fine when viewed from there.
2. I added the {{pp-template}} just because the editor who merged my previous similar request (for {{Taxonomy/Neogastropoda}} did so there, in order to add the little lock icon to the page. The little lock icon does not, however, show up in either my personal sandbox or the actual template's sandbox. The documentation says {{pp-template}} "does not show on pages that are not protected", so I assume that explains it, but obviously I don't know for sure whether it will show up on the actual template.
Thanks.

Completed – just fyi, editor Rwv37, only an administrator can protect a page, adding the icon should only be done when a page is already protected. And just adding the icon does not protect the page. Usually, a bot will come along and remove the {{pp-template}} from unprotected pages. Thanks again! P.I. Ellsworth , ed. put'er there 01:46, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
