The edit notice the reads "Content that violates any copyrights will be deleted. Encyclopedic content must be verifiable. Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used and redistributed by other people at will." is not needed on a the Templates for discussion pages. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 09:23, 30 September 2012 (UTC)

Can someone check delete this edit notice? it pop up when editing the page Wikipedia:Templates for discussion, but it's empty, so there's just a big empty pop-up. It should be fixed. FaviFake (talk) 11:06, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

- I suggest deleting this edit notice, since:
- It appears it has never actually shown up properly, at least in the Visual and source editors (desktop) and in the Android mobile app;
- Like all others XfD, there is the very same link at the top right of the WP:TfD page, which is easier to find;
- It is distracting (especially on mobile). All editors that edit the page don't need to see it, just the administrators... and I'm sure the administrators know that the top-right link is where they can find the closing instructions;
- No other XfD has a similar edit notice.

- You're right, I forgot to disable the edit request. Since this is a template, I've nominated it for deletion at Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2025 August 3. The TfD nomination instructions state:
- Paste the following notices to the top of the template page: {{subst:Template for discussion|type=inline}}
- If the template is protected, request that the TfD notice be added on the template's talk page using the
{{editprotected}}template, to catch the attention of administrators or template editors.
