This template provides a semi-automated system for updating the previous season performances of football clubs in Australia. It should only be updated at the end of each season.

Teams are grouped by the league/division that they compete in. The first value is the league/division that the team competed in during the previous season, with a link to the competition's article.

The second value is the previous season that the team played in, with a link to the season article.

The third value is the position that the team finished in during the previous season. It should also be listed if the team were premiers, champions, or if they were promoted or relegated.

If the team did not qualify for the finals series, it should not be listed.

If the team was promoted in the previous season:
- The competition that they were promoted to (and are now playing in) should be listed in the first field.
- The competition that they were promoted from (were playing in last season) should be represented in the second and third fields.
In the example listed below, West Adelaide were promoted as champions from SA State League 1 to NPL SA. This is how the infobox would've appeared during the 2023 season:

Note that if the team were promoted due to their performance in the regular season, the positioning of the "(promoted)" tag should reflect that.
