This infobox takes up something like 75% of the article's total width on desktop/Vector 2022, which is the default for readers. Any thoughts on how to narrow it? Ed[talk][OMT]04:14, 21 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The status of the Chetniks by the Axis powers in the article
Hello everyone, I suggest that the article more clearly separates the representation of the Chetniks from the Axis powers, especially after 1943, and emphasizes that their collaboration is not the same as an alliance with the Axis. I think that the current version of the article, including the infobox, may give the impression that the Chetniks were part of the Axis in the same way as Germany, Italy, or the NDH, which is not true. Although the Chetniks collaborated with Italian and, to a lesser extent, German forces after 1943, this collaboration did not constitute an alliance with the Axis. The Germans still considered Mihailović a potential enemy, unlike other collaborationist groups.
To avoid confusion, I suggest that in the infobox, the Chetniks should be separated from the Axis powers, potentially by dividing them into periods after 1943 with a note about collaboration, but not alliance.
You can cite sources such as Jozo Tomasevich (War and Revolution in Yugoslavia, 1941–1945: Chetniks).
You can use the flag of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia for the Chetniks in the infobox, which I do not insist on, unlike the note about limited collaboration and modus vivendi.
This approach would be in line with the historical complexity of the Chetnik movement and the principle of neutrality (WP:NPOV). Please provide your opinions, suggestions, or additional sources that would support this change. I have looked at the discussions in the Archive on similar issues (e.g. splitting the infobox), so I think this could be a constructive compromise. Thanks!
