New editor added POV and paraphrased an almost identical copy of an external article
[edit]@OPeditor: Special:Diff/1249544201 violates WP:NPOV tone and is paraphrasing the original source, potentially foul of WP:PARAPHRASE. (This article is semi-protected.) 84.250.15.152 (talk) 15:00, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

I want to add some tidbits like how bloatware usually installed on the OS isn't in the IoT version. I know it's not important but I can make good edits once I have experience. BlookTheSubwaySandwich (talk) 21:25, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 00:32, 6 March 2025 (UTC)
Windows 12 release
[edit]I just read an article on LinkedIn (not WP:RS) about the release of Windows 12. Apparently, it will not be loaded directly on the local PC, but instead will be cloud-based. Also mentioned in the article was a US$45/month subscription fee. All systems will need to be updated by December 2026. Has anyone else here seen any WP:RS with this info? Should it be mentioned in the article if an RS can be cited? — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 22:06, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- My gut instinct tells me that given it's only on LinkedIn, the current date might have something to do with this. pcuser42 (talk) 22:46, 1 April 2025 (UTC)
- Possibly, but it was an article as opposed to a personal post. — TadgStirkland401 (TadgTalk) 22:50, 1 April 2025 (UTC)

Server counterpart of Windows 11
[edit]"A Windows Server counterpart, Server 2022 was also released in 2021 and was updated to Server 2025 in 2024." The above line is from the introduction part and it is false as it claims that "Windows Server 2022" is the server counterpart of Windows 11 while "Windows Server 2025" is described as a "feature update" of the said server OS.
Here are the following points:
- Windows Server 2022 is actually the server counterpart of Windows 10 November 2021 Update (version 21H2), albeit that their codebases are different and this renders Windows Server 2022's updates incompatible with Windows 10 21H2. The reason is that Windows Server 2022 is based on a Windows 10 Insider codebase called "Iron" while Windows 10 21H2 is based on the "Vibranium" codebase which was first used for Windows 10 May 2020 Update (version 2004 or 20H1) and in this case, Windows 10 21H2 can be considered as a cumulative update to Windows 10 2004.
- Also, Windows Server 2022 cannot be considered as the server counterpart of the original release of Windows 11. Although both the original release of Windows 11 and the said server OS share the same version string of 21H2, Windows 11's original release (RTM) is based on the "Cobalt" codebase, which earlier consisted of Windows Insider builds retaining the old Windows 10 graphical user interface before the official announcement of Windows 11. Following this, new builds were compiled including the new user interface as part of the "Sun Valley" project. Windows 10 build 21390 is the last Windows build that includes the old Windows 10 GUI before its successor's official announcement. BetaWiki describes this build as the last available build of Windows 10 (excluding cumulative updates to Windows 10 2004, based on the Vibranium codebase) before its successor's official announcement.
- For the actual server version of Windows 11, it is Windows Server 2025 and is the first release of Windows Server that is based on a Windows 11 codebase. Windows Server 2025 is the server counterpart of Windows 11 2024 Update (version 24H2), which is based on the "Germanium" codebase.
Now, I suggest changing the above lines from the introduction part and replacing with the one here: "A server counterpart, Windows Server 2025, was released in 2024." Wercum87Alt2 (talk) 20:54, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
