#improperclassification

[edit]

the list of countries in West Asia is sorted into recognized and unrecognized countries. Palestine is not a universally recognized country. Shouldn't it be put in unrecognized as it is in a gray zone per the classification guidelines? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:CATSPECIFIC&redirect=no JV-PFS (talk) 01:44, 3 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Cyprus is Asia ???

[edit]

I know there is a lot of ignorance going around in the world, but people should know at least the basics. ALL MEDITERRANEAN ISLANDS BELONG TO EUROPE. I am not talking about little rocks here and there, I am talking about the islands you can see on the map. Cyprus is a member of the European Union. I guess the accept Asian countries now, ha ha. And, speaking of adding in the list countries that don't exist, just for propaganda purposes, we see, of course, the illegal North Cyprus pseudostate. Maybe this is the reason Cyprus was added here.Iathien (talk) 15:21, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"not to be confused with Middle East"

[edit]

is template:NTBCW really the best one to use here? It seems inappropriate to me...

Template description reads as follows:

[...] template produces a hatnote to point out to readers, who may have misspelled their desired title, the existence of one or more articles whose title(s) is, or are, similar to the page in question. It is used in cases where the distinction between the titles is generally obvious and does not need further explanation.

also just intuitively, "don't get these two confused!" is that really what is meant? Tomatoswoop (talk) 20:03, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I agree the hatnote seems a reach, I would remove it. Remsense 🌈  20:17, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
