Is this character notable enough for an article?
[edit]He quite literally doesn’t even appear within Undertale, and I’d assume hardly anyone outside of Undertale/Deltarune fan circles are aware of his existence. This article is only really of interest to diehard Toby Fox theorisers looking for in-universe information, and you can go to fan wikis for that. FizzleDrunk (talk) 08:33, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- None of this has relevance to WP:GNG.
- A character who does not appear in Undertale is more relevant than a character who does, assuming that the former receives more quality WP:SIGCOV than the latter.
- A lot of subjects are not evident to most people that are clearly notable.
- Unless the diehard Toby Fox theorisers are the people writing the articles cited (and in some cases, the published papers), that's not really relevant at all. - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 10:25, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- Fair enough. FizzleDrunk (talk) 10:37, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Unsure if the Egg Man/Man Behind the Tree speculation is notable/concrete enough to be here?
[edit]Hey, just joined to edit a mistake in here, so I'm sorry if I'm misunderstanding this. I do think it is somewhat understandable to have more speculative information on this page, since Gaster doesn't have too much concrete stuff on him just yet, but if we're including a bit on what he's speculated to be in Deltarune, I personally don't think the Egg Man is the main thing that should be mentioned. I understand that more niche information/theories like the connections between the secret bosses and Gaster are more suited towards fan wikis, but if we are going to have some speculation, I don't think the Egg Man is the greatest fit.
The pieces of evidence in the Egg Man section don't really feel strong enough to be mentioned. The Chapter 1 Egg room does have a similar layout to the mysteryman room, but the Chapter 2 room is completely different. The music, while short and ominous, likely is not intended to have Gaster's theme, since the track was originally a fan made Yume Nikki track called "Waltz of Seccom Masada", made in around 2012 I believe?
I personally think that the intro sequence for Chapter 1 and the Twitter takeovers are a lot more noteworthy and important to include. Maybe something on the pre-release Deltarune website as well? LuIGuess (talk) 21:58, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
Deltarune speculation
[edit]I think the Deltarune theories on him are notable enough to have more than just a sentence or two mentioning them. Yes, he hasn't been "explicitly confirmed," but there is so much evidence that it's clear he's part of Deltarune's story. Now, this doesn't mean we have to act like this is fact, but I do think the more clear "theories" should have a part in the Analysis section of the article. - @TheSilksongPikmin the part where you quoted explicitly confirmed made it sound like the corporate slop wikipedia has more and more grown to become
- now, this is just my opinion, and you don't have to respect it,I don't care if you do or dont Danixer85 96 (talk) 14:44, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
"him.png" wingdings text on old versions of the deltarune.com site. Is it notable enough to include?
[edit]For those who are unaware, older versions of the Deltarune site, before the game's release, included Wingdings text of Entry Number 17, and the game's Legend. The only source mentioning this is Comic Book Resources, which is under Valnet that is considered a "Situational" source. (Article) This is a source already included on the page. Is this enough to add this piece of information on the page? While only a single source mentions this, it is a very big piece of evidence towards Gaster's involvement in the plot of Deltarune, and it has spawned many theories. - @TheSilksongPikmin I guess this counts? but idrk if the mods are gonna be happy lol Danixer85 96 (talk) 14:42, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
- I agree that it counts, but I'll wait for more people to give their opinion on this, as it would be adding a good amount of content to the page. TheSilksongPikmin (talk) 23:07, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
