I stumbled over "The American landscape painter Frederic Edwin Church, who is more famous than any of the above, produced similar paintings of Ecuador’s Cotopaxi Volcano during and after visits in 1853 and 1857, but he never visited the Hawaiian Islands." and this struck me as disparaging and irrelevant to the article.
