Transit agencies outside of L.A. County
[edit]OCTA (Orange County) accepts TAP on a few lines. Is there any possibility they and other nearby counties will fully adopt TAP in the near future? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.100.45.171 (talk) 00:24, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

TAP cards aren't blue or orange anymore
[edit]i saw that in the article, it said that the tap card was blue (or orange). it needs to be updated because the tap card as of 2019 has a design on it. it's true, however, that tap cards do have blue or orange backgrounds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Transit Productions820 (talk • contribs) 19:37, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Create a list of Special/Limited edition TAP Cards
[edit]Metro has a strong community of collectors, and a robust catalog of special editions that reflect the company and the region.
A new page with a list of all of the cards, designs and release dates would be helpful, especially since no comprehensive list currently exists Vrbanite (talk) 20:47, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Vrbanite: Yes I agree, Oyster card already does something similar. You could probably expand this idea to other smartcards around the US that have limited edition designs, from memory I believe SmarTrip card do them too? Internationally, I believe Octopus card and EZ-Link card have special designs too. Fork99 (talk) 20:55, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- transitcards [dot] xyz maintains a basically complete list, and Metro has a (few?) physical folder(s) with most released designs - I'm not sure what the sourcing requirements are for something like this though. Auvon (talk) 06:06, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Requested move 20 July 2025

Transit Access Pass → TAP card (Los Angeles County) – Per WP:COMMONNAME, the full name is not used in colloquialism. Per WP:SECONDARY, secondary sources also commonly refer to it as "TAP card." OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 05:10, 20 July 2025 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 22:16, 20 July 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. - Would "Los Angeles" work as a disambiguator? (Shorter than "Los Angeles County") Jruderman (talk) 23:45, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm fine with it, it may actually be preferable due to its brevity. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 01:50, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- Los Angeles TAP card ? -- 65.93.183.181 (talk) 09:22, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- I've definitely considered that too; it could be a bit more natural. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 10:10, 24 July 2025 (UTC)

- Comment Note that TAP card is an existing redirect to this article; Tap card is not. Per WP:DIFFCAPS, TAP card (Los Angeles County) could be seen as unnecessary disambiguation. 162 etc. (talk) 02:42, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Yeah if "TAP card" currently only redirects here and there's nothing else using that name, not sure if we need the disambiguating parenthetical. --Jfruh (talk) 14:36, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, well, I was under the impression that TAP card by itself was ambiguous when it was contested as a technical request. If it's unambiguous, then yeah, the disambiguation is redundant. Support moving to TAP card. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 18:54, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
