Rape and manslaughter

[edit]

The introduction to this article fails to mention the multiple allegations of rape and manslaughter. It fails to allude that the church was a cult. It is biased as it heaps praise on him while criticism is buried further down 2.138.110.59 (talk) 16:57, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Legacy

[edit]

More should be said of his legacy. Thewarritimesian (talk) 16:27, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing should be said regarding Joshua's 'legacy', unless it can be sourced to an impartial analysis from e.g. an academic source, rather than the vacuous promotional puffery that has repeatedly been added to the article. It is a sad fact that the Nigerian media has something of a reputation for Brown envelope journalism, to the extent that Wikipedia has unfortunately had to discuss the issue on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources - see WP:NEWSORGNIGERIA. If the Nigerian media chose to host such vacuous promotional flim-flam, it is unfortunate, but we are under no obligation whatsoever to take it seriously. Joshua, and his church, clearly have supporters after his death, but there is nothing whatsoever in Wikipedia policy that states that we have to treat their opinions as having any significance whatsoever. This is an encyclopaedia, not a memorial, and this is an article about Joshua himself. He is deceased, and the continued boosterism of his followers has no place here. Note that Thewarritimesian has been blocked as yet another obvious sockpuppet. AndyTheGrump (talk) 17:24, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
