The article is new enough, and long enough. I did not find any close paraphrasing. A QPQ has been done. Referencing is largely alright except for one part (I will get to it later). However, the article is not ready for primetime. Firstly, it needs a copy edit as it is full of grammatical errors. Second, the claim that it is the most bitter Japanese herb is unreferenced. Thirdly, even if it was referenced, it would likely not meet WP:DYKHOOKSTYLE due to it being a superlative claim (i.e. "most bitter"), and such a claim requires exceptional sourcing to withstand scrutiny. - @Narutolovehinata5: I've done minor changes such as copyediting and source that one bit. Also, can this be a good ALT1.
- ALT1: ... that Swertia japonica is one of the most popular Japanese herbs despite being one of the most bitter?
- Source is the same this. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 02:37, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- "Most popular" is also a superlative hook and thus requires strong sourcing. I'm also not comfortable stating such a claim in Wikivoice in a hook. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 10:20, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: ALT2: ... that Swertia japonica is a popular Japanese herb despite being bitter? Is this better? I've dropped the superlative one. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 13:24, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- I'm sorry if this may sound like nitpicking, but I'm not sure if even that would survive scrutiny given WP:WIKIVOICE concerns. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 11:34, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: ALT3: ... that Swertia japonica was used as an insecticide for clothes during the Edo Period?
- ALT4: ... that a mixture of glue and Swertia japonica was used during the Edo Period to protect byōbu from insect?
- both of the hook is source: Toho UniversityThe Phamaceutical Society of Japan. Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 12:00, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- ALT3 is okay. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 01:59, 16 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Narutolovehinata5: Thanks You, so is this approved without a green tick? Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 03:26, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- Not yet, the article still needs to be copyedited. Narutolovehinata5 (talk ·

- @Narutolovehinata5: My English grammar sucks, and for me at least I found no immediate problems, so I made a request on Guild of Copy Editors.Warm Regards, Miminity (Talk?) (me contribs) 10:40, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
