To add to article
[edit]Basic information to add to this article (in order to help make it more properly encyclopedic): Monarez's date of birth, and information about her family background, ethnic heritage, and early life. 98.123.38.211 (talk) 05:38, 25 March 2025 (UTC)
- There is a suggestion that she is 56 years of age (born around 1969) and married to Eduardo D. Monarez. But there are online 'cookie crumbs' suggesting that she was born November 6, 1974. which matches the academic history that we have for her. We think that her middle name is Patricia. - Trump says that Monarez is a mother.[1] "As an incredible mother and dedicated public servant, Dr. Monarez understands the importance of protecting our children, our communities, and our future..." We think that she is married to Eduardo Daniel Monarez (about 2008).MaynardClark (talk) 04:49, 26 March 2025 (UTC)
Publications
[edit]We need a select list of her scientific publications in refereed publications.MaynardClark (talk) 05:09, 26 March 2025 (UTC)

Medical Degree Clarifications?
[edit]Currently, the 'Career' section says "If confirmed, she would be the first director without a medical degree since 1953" which reflects the language used by some news articles. Per Associated Press (same citation as article) "She holds a doctorate in microbiology and immunology from the University of Wisconsin, and did postdoctoral research at Stanford University." PhD in the medical fields of microbiology and immunology is a type of graduate-level education in medicine but is technically not a medical degree (MD) in the U.S. My understanding is MD's are professional degrees for practicing medicine and are obtained a bit differently than PhDs. But, the distinction between PhD and a medical degree in this context is confusing for a casual reader. Adding a superscript note clarifying the difference when hovering over the citation might be useful for readers.
