Suggest merger with orchestra hit
[edit]Orchestra hit is a particular kind of musical stab. The stab article is much shorter, and doesn't include the full background given in orchestra hit. Readers would benefit by having the content of the two articles merged. The orchestra hit article says it is specifically about the synthesizer sound, but whether the sound is a sample (music), a synthesized sound, or a live performance seems secondary. Obviously, the synthesizer versions can be covered in their own section. --Macrakis (talk) 19:31, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- While I'm normally a fan of merging minor topics, I'm not so sure here. If anything, the merge should be the other direction. People know what an orchestra hit is, even non-musical nerds, but few people know what a stab is. The equivalent is when there's a genus with one extremely famous species that dominates the rest - even if the article could be at the genus level, either a species-level article or both may be best. - It seems to me they're distinct enough that I don't see the point of a merge. -R. fiend (talk) 02:38, 4 April 2025 (UTC)
