I created this article a week ago and it was approved pretty quickly. However, it still isn't showing up in Google search listings, even when including "Wikipedia" as a search term. At least in my experience, new articles start showing up in Google as soon as they're approved, but not here. This article did start out as a redirect, so maybe it's still "logged" as such for SEO purposes? Can this be fixed or do I just have this all wrong? Mbinebri (talk) 16:00, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I'm guessing you're right, and the problem is that this used to be a redirect and has been turned into an article.
There's no administrative action required here, or indeed any action that I know of. The article has been patrolled, which makes it available for search engine indexing, but whether they index it, and when, is outside our control.
I seem to remember someone saying that if you move this into drafts, and back into the main space again, that might 'trick' Google into indexing it, but I don't know how likely that is to work and whether it's worth it.
