Confusing sentence
[edit]There's a sentence near the end of this article that is very confusing. It says "Smuggling is a cognizable offense in which both the smuggled goods and the goods are punishable.".
I've read it over several times and it still makes no sense. Why are there both 'smuggled goods' and just 'goods'? While we're at it, how are goods punishable anyway?
I would love to clean it it up, but I don't know the intended meaning. I recently added a clarification tag to the sentence but I figured I should also post about it on the talk page. Does anyone know what this sentence means? TypoEater (talk) 02:10, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
- I thought maybe the sentence made sense at some point and got accidentally mangled in later edits, but it's been like this since this 2008 edit. I think we should just delete it. And while we're at it, we should delete or clean up other parts of that section that are unclear (and possibly WP:OR). — Chrisahn (talk) 02:56, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
