Questions

[edit]

Was wondering if it is appropriate for the mention of the daughters and the relationship of Dan Seals in the article to be under the heading of "Career"? It is interesting info, but seems misplaced under this heading. Thoughts?THX1136 (talk) 15:34, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If good sources can be found then perhaps a biographical section is needed and then include that information there. --Smkolins (talk) 19:34, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A Personal lives section could hold information for both artist. Mlpearc (open channel) 19:56, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

From their Facebook page, which they apparently Moderate.
Seals and Crofts were an American soft rock duo made up of James "Jim" Seals (born October 17, 1941) and Darrell "Dash" Crofts (born August 14, 1940).

Biography for Jim Seals

[edit]

Sorry to start a topic, I don't know how to add info to the page. I would like to suggest using the Obit for James Seals from the NY Times which describes both their Careers, with info from them.

The same Article is basically Parroted by Variety with some add'l details about James Seals.

He was of the Baha'i Faith and their Organization also provided a nice Portrait Bio found here.

Finally, there is a great Article posted from an Interview of them both on Stereo Magazine in 1971

Updating the Title of the Page (Move a Page) from Seals and Crofts to Seals & Crofts

[edit]

I represent the owner of the SEALS & CROFTS trademark and brand. When referring to the musical duo, the correct name is "Seals & Crofts" with an ampersand. Please update the title of the page (i.e., move the page) from "Seals and Crofts" to "Seals & Crofts" with an ampersand. The name should also be updated where it is displayed about the first photo. You can see the correct name here: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/seals-crofts/168232 JessAWood (talk) 22:51, 10 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The name should also be updated to “Seals & Crofts” with an ampersand in the body of the article here: (i) Seals and Crofts were an American soft rock duo formed in Los Angeles, California in 1969 by James Eugene Seals (October 17, 1942 – June 6, 2022)[1][2][a] and Darrell George "Dash" Crofts (born August 14, 1938).; (ii) in the heading: “As Seals and Crofts”; (iii) Also in 1989, Seals and Crofts officially reunited and made concert appearances once again up in Canada, and then they toured the US in 1991-1992 until disbanding again in late 1992.; (iv) In 1998 Crofts released a solo CD titled Today, which contained some re-recordings of Seals and Crofts material.; (v) In December 2010 the bandmates' daughters Juliet (Seals) Crossley and Amelia (Crofts) Dailey, along with Genevieve (Bogan) Dozier, daughter of Seals and Crofts engineer Joey Bogan, formed a musical trio called the Humming Birds.; (vi) in the second instance in this sentence: “In 2018 Brady Seals (Jim's cousin) and Lua Crofts (Dash's daughter) began touring as Seals and Crofts 2, performing the catalog of Seals and Crofts, as well as some new music.”; and (vii) in these two links: “Seals and Crofts discography at Discogs” and “Seals and Crofts at IMDb”.
