Seriously

[edit]

Does anybody consider Monterey, San Benito, Stanislaus, or Merced counties as part of the San Francisco Bay Area? I've never heard that before. 166.107.163.31 (talk) 20:17, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Article review

[edit]

It has been a little bit since this article has been reviewed, so I took a look and noticed the following:

  • There is uncited prose, including entire paragraphs and sections,
  • At over 12,500 words, the article is too detailed and WP:TOOBIG. I recommend that information be spun out, summarised more effectively, or trimmed.
  • The "Demographics" section needs to be updated with the 2020 census information.

Should this article go to WP:GAR? Z1720 (talk) 20:04, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure about WP:GAR but I strongly concur that it's way too detailed. It reads like it was written by someone unfamiliar with how to write for a hypertext environment, in which many details can and should be diverted to other articles, while articles on big topics should attack their subject matter at a high level of abstraction. It reads like someone was using this article as a test run for a textbook on the Bay Area. --Coolcaesar (talk) 22:08, 8 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Coolcaesar: Would you be interested in bringing this to WP:GAR? I nominate lots of articles there, and you can best speak to your observation about the article being too detailed. No worries if you don't want to, but I'd appreciate it. Z1720 (talk) 18:29, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
