change the date of the treaty for Wind River Reservation from 1886 to 1868 (quick google search seemed to be just a flip of the two digits) it currently says that porivo, who died in 1884 was at a treaty 1886 for the Wind River Reservation NWWWWN (talk) 15:12, 6 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Death date

[edit]

An article in the NYT in July 2025 is called " What if Everything We Know About Sacagawea Is Wrong?" The lead suggests she died at an advanced age. The article is behind a pay wall. Kdammers (talk) 22:40, 23 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a link that gets beyond the paywall. I do believe her data of death should at least include the 1869 death of her and her daughter as told by her grandson. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/07/23/magazine/sacagawea-biography-history.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Zk8.THr-.66wltczEcK90&smid=url-share Umsami (talk) 10:32, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Delete the entry for the statue in Chamberlain, South Dakota. This statue is called "Dignity of Earth and Sky" and is not modeled after Sacagawea specifically. The source for the misinformation is from a TripAdvisor review. Here is the information about the statue from the sculptor with no mention of Sacagawea: https://www.lampherestudio.com/dignity 66.231.18.130 (talk) 23:09, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done; I also removed it from List of statues of Sacagawea because it failed verification in that article too—the cited source there said that the sculptor blended together the likenesses of three different women. SuperPianoMan9167 (talk) 23:30, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
