Common Riding

[edit]

A Common Riding, sometimes known as a "riding", would appear to involve both horse riding and the bounds of a district... I have no idea as to its etymology but I will put it in the latter category for now. Ben MacDui 07:50, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I would have assumed the other etymology, but can't offer any proof. Lavateraguy (talk) 22:12, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

According to Wikinav more than a third of outgoing pageviews go Riding (division), the second highest amount of views goes to Electoral district (Canada) which is a subset of the other topic. Altogether these two topics make up 2/3rds of the outgoing page views. Of the other topics listed none are known as simply 'riding' to my knowledge Traumnovelle (talk) 01:41, 2 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
