PowerPC's origins predate AIM alliance
is a RISC architecture created by the 1991 Apple–IBM–Motorola alliance, known as AIM.

About Xilinx Virtex
Can somebody include some info about the PowerPC embedded cores present in Xilinx VirtexII-Pro and Virtex 4 LX FPGAs?
