"Poll tax election"

While there is no doubting that poll tax didn't do the Tories any good with much of the electorate and it even contributed to the demise of Thatcher as PM, it would have been hard for it to have affected the 1990 election seeing as there was no general election that year. Could anyone clarify whether this is supposed to refer to local elections or by-elections, or whether it is just a mistake? Thanks, PamukSoundystem (talk) 16:50, 13 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
