COI tag and other concerns

[edit]

The article has received a lot of questionable edits of a promotional nature from an IP address (82.5.178.63), so I am adding a COI tage to it. Bondegezou (talk) 10:14, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I removed a bunch of material that had been tagged as needing a citation. Another particular concern is over the second paragraph in Early Life and Education. This begins, "In 2003,[1] when he was 17 years old,[2]". However, the article gives his birth year as 1981, so he would have been 21 or 22 in 2003. I've tagged this. Bondegezou (talk) 10:20, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article also states, "In 2001, he co-founded the International Solidarity Movement (ISM).[3]" The Guardian article does say this in its own voice, although the article seems to be based on talking to Qashoo. The International Solidarity Movement article does not support this. It gives the Movement's founders as Ghassan Andoni, Neta Golan, Huwaida Arraf and George Rishmawi. (There was one weaselly-worded reference to Qashoo on the whole page, which cited a Norwegian newspaper article. I looked at this and it didn't support the text given, so I have removed it.) I, therefore, do not believe that Qashoo co-founded the ISM and will tag this as dubious. Bondegezou (talk) 10:25, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The article says, "In 2010, Qashoo helped organise the Gaza Freedom Flotilla,[1][4]" However, the Gaza Freedom Flotilla article makes no mention of Qashoo. Can we get more clarity on that? Bondegezou (talk) 13:07, 11 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the absence of further discussion, I have removed the 17 years old reference and the claim of co-founding the ISM. Bondegezou (talk) 08:31, 19 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
