Updating dates on article

[edit]

Hi space nerd here. Couldn't help but notice that some dates are outdated or incorrect. I tried to edit it but apparently I'm not cleared for that. Can someone with the power to edit that? InterstellarNerd8760 (talk) 03:30, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article is semi-protected, so you need to have made at least ten edits to be allowed to edit it. You've made seven edits. You could put the dates you want to change here so someone else could update the article, but you'll be able to fix them yourself shortly. Why space national?

Why space national? 2.63.201.93 (talk) 06:56, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean? NASA is the US's civilian space agency. The US Space Force is the military branch for space. -Fnlayson (talk) 15:25, 18 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

" birthplace of aviation"

[edit]

@SarekOfVulcan: I think WP:SURPRISE is so that the linked art. almost exactly or exactly matches=is the same as the text / anchor. This is obvious as knowing a link - an important connecting meaning / information / understanding but not making the connection evident - i.e. if the link is the opposite: a "suprising" connection - is suprising the meaning as I understand it is as if the word opens into a completely not obvious and different art.. Obviously SUPRISE stops people from linking for no obvious meaning / reason - without the intelligence attached i.e. an explanation - content. With this premise, if you accept that is the meaning of SUPRISE; what did you think the problem of the link was? (𒌋*𓆏)𓆭 23:50, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The source text is about the US being the birthplace of aviation. The link is to a short paragraph about Dayton. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 23:56, 27 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"a short paragraph about Dayton" the sub-heading "Dayton, Ohio" is "b. of a." so that isn't the case presumably easily that anyone thought to make the subheading the words which they are. 19:42, the v. you reverted links to the sub. which commences: "Powered aviation began in Dayton" - this is like reading: "Despite being the birthplace of avaiation" then nav. finding "Dayton" which is increasing the relevant information from the launch page. Page 1: birthplace-launch-Dayton gives the necessary reponse of query - if the spec. is "where in US" or the sense: need more info. on the important thing which is the beginning of something. If you would like to review the v. you reverted: NASA - Wikipedia - the linked art. from "Dayton" proceeds to provide relevant details informations. It isn't a para. about Dayton. I linked: "O. and W. Wright" so nav. for further satisfaction is now enabled. (𒌋*𓆏)𓆭 01:25, 28 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
