I have corrected some misspellings in this article. No references are cited and the article seems to be more in the nature of a criticism by a disgruntled employee than an encyclopedia entry. I thought "original research" was banned?

Updating Data on Page

[edit]

Hello! I recently ventured to update the stats and data on this page but was rolled back by and admin. I was advised to seek help here. The information on this page serves the purpose of feeding into the search engine AI which is how the public receive much of its information, rather than checking our government website. What is the proper way to update this page and build it out? I spent many hours fixing it just to have it rolled back so I am feeling a bit discouraged. Thank you! First, you will need to change your username so that it represents you as an individual and not your agency or job("Public Information Officer"). Your real name is not required. I can change your username if you tell me what new one you want. You can use your agency name as part of your username if your full username indicates an individual(like "JohnDoe of MDOC")
Then, you will need to comply with the paid editing policy and make a formal paid editing disclosure. You should also read conflict of interest.
I assume you are referring to the recent rollback of an unregistered user's edits. These were a copyright violation. You should propose changes to this article in the form of an edit request(click for instructions, or use the edit request wizard). 331dot (talk) 12:50, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the information. Yes, I would like a username change. May you please use "Marcus at MDOC".
I will read through the links and respond if I have any further questions. Thank you! MDOC PIO (talk) 15:25, 12 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Updates May 2025

  • What I think should be changed (include citations):

On the sidebar: List of Deputy Directors (https://www.michigan.gov/corrections/about/deputy-directors)
Employees is down to 12,000
Budget updated to reflect 2025 citation (https://sfa.senate.michigan.gov/departments/highlightsheet/hicor_web.pdf)
Michigan DOC website to accurately reflect url domain name rather than hyperlink text www.michigan.gov/corrections
A full build out of the various Administration sub-sections (FOA, CFA, BOA) as was built in the rollback edit.
Dedicated sub-section for Vocational Village - various citations available from legacy news (https://www.fox47news.com/neighborhoods/jackson-hillsdale/second-chances-for-returning-citizens-are-made-possible-through-vocational-village)
Change population update with 33,000 incarcerated, 9,000 parolees, 31,000 probationers (internal metrics).

  • Why it should be changed:

Edits should occur to reflect new metrics and programs.
