Re-add removed historical usage

[edit]

The historical usage of methylene blue removed in 1249340040 should be re-added to the article. The information is proportionate in relation to the other information in the section. The source used for the information is a reliable source that is used in the article and the information is correctly representative of the source.

WP:MEDRS guidelines do not apply because the aforementioned information is historical information and not medical information. See WP:NOTBMI

If no one contests this I will be adding H44dyss9900 (talk) 19:48, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You'd need to rephrase it then to remove e.g. "the drug's antidepressant and other psychotropic effects". What precise change are you proposing? Bon courage (talk) 19:53, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Pseudoscientific “therapy”

[edit]

The increasing promotion of methylene blue on the Internet and social media as a pseudoscientific “cure-all” is a growing issue that might be worth including.

Methylene blue - when used for one specific evidence -based use in medical toxicology - remains a prescription drug and not something lawful or safe to sell online for human consumption. 180.150.36.5 (talk) 15:22, 15 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, just like they said steroids show no evidence of increasing muscle mass or athletic performance, in the early 90s.
but you don’t remember that, right? Clown. 🤡 you are a fake skeptic. 142.114.97.13 (talk) 16:18, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

IP address user, opinion disregarded. In addition, "Skeptical Inquirer" is not a real or reputablepp source. Xenosystem (talk) 21:32, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11127079/ The entire article is well worth the read. 140 years of well known safety and a prophylactic for Covid-19. Anti malarial like hydroxychloroquine. Can't have effective treatments if you are going to have an emergency. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7534595/ 2601:588:C501:32C0:3D97:6348:68EB:E480 (talk) 22:46, 20 May 2025 (UTC)David[reply]

Not to be confused section

[edit]

Given the visual, phonetic, and to an extent therapeutic similarities, seems like Prussian Blue should be added to the preface note. Any dissent? Chris Rodgers (talk)
