What did he really do?

[edit]

@Harold Krabs: After reading some of the sources, which all, appear to be in Persian, not English, as the citations might indicate, I cannot help but feel you have left something out, like an explanation of what this person really did to annoy people sufficiently to be brought up on charges in an Iranian court. Some sources refer to Persian media commenting on his activities prior to his arrest, including having assets frozen in 2020, and using funds to build a house. A biography is meant to be a full and well rounded accounting of a person's public life, not just the fact that he has been convicted of a crime. If he is only notable for being the perpetrator of crimes, any Wikipedia article should be about his crimes, rather than him as a person. At the moment, this article is little more than a pseudo-biography of this person, other than the crime, what did he do, and what makes him notable? Please tell the full story alluded to in the sources. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 21:16, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Cameron Dewe: Sorry for not being able to respond to you sooner. Unfortunately, I was facing internet restrictions here in Iran. In response to your question, it's important to note that the subject of the article has been covered by numerous sources. This individual has committed a wide range of crimes through his connections with the Islamic Republic’s establishment. The scale and extent of the financial corruption were so significant that even state-affiliated media—who typically conceal such matters—were unable to ignore or suppress the reports of his crimes.

Independent media outlets have also thoroughly documented his background and offenses, and the article may indeed need to be expanded further to reflect that. One particularly notable aspect of this case is the young age of the perpetrator, who, despite his age, managed to carry out these acts through influential connections within the system.🅣𝓗𝓪𝓻𝓸𝓵𝓭 𝓚𝓻𝓪𝓫𝓼 01:21, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Harold Krabs: I am not too concerned if reports of some of the subject's crimes are being suppressed by state-affiliated media. What I am concerned about is those crimes that the media do report, whether state-affiliated, or independent, are explained in this Wikipedia article. At present, omitting this information is a form of suppression of information and make the article read like a whitewash of Iranian state activities involving this subject. Whether what the state has done is justified or not depends on telling the whole story, not just half-stories that leave out the significant facts. Wikipedia articles are not censored - that includes editors not self-censoring the articles they write by not including information mentiond in sources that some people might find uncomfortable to read about. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:22, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
