The telephone kiosk
[edit]If any Hull-based Wikipedian can get a picture of the gold telephone kiosk, it would be a great edition to not only this page, but also KCOM Group and perhaps Red telephone box#Kingston upon Hull. Nick Cooper (talk) 12:35, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- Left Hull too early for the box to be painted, I will try next time I am up there if no one else has obliged. Keith D (talk) 01:13, 16 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK I managed to get a couple while I was up in Hull last week. File:Luke Campbell Gold Telephone Box 1.jpg & File:Luke Campbell Gold Telephone Box 2.jpg Keith D (talk) 23:59, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

broken citation
[edit]There have been some edits here that are detrimental to the citation created by {{infobox boxer}}
- this edit introduced
{{small|MBE}}
; that template's documentation indicates that{{small}}
should not be used in citation templates (a{{cite web}}
template is embedded in{{infobo boxer}}
) - this edit replaced
{{small|MBE}}
with<br>
– I came to this article because of that replacement which shows an error message. The error message occurs because{{post-nominals|country=UK|MBE}}
{{post-nominals}}
renders a wikilink to Order of the British Empire as part of the citation's title while at the same time the|url=
value created in{{infobox boxer}}
is also linking the citation's title to https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/651514. The citation's title cannot link to two different targets at the same time. For this reason, I removed{{post-nominals}}
at this edit. - this edit restored
<br>
and restored the error message; see the citation{{post-nominals|country=UK|MBE}}
Please don't do that. MBE is not part of the title at https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/651514 (nor is it even mentioned there) so does not belong in the |title=
parameter of the {{cite web}}
citation created by {{infobox boxer}}
. If it is believed that post-nominals or other templated infomation is important to the infobox, that infomation should be placed in an appropriate parameter for the infobox and not made part of the |title=
parameter of the embedded {{cite web}}
template.
For the above reasons I have reverted the most recent edit.

Luke Campbell (boxer) → Luke Campbell (politician) – He's now been elected as mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire. ItsNotGoingToHappen (talk) 16:28, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose - too early, as he hasn't even taken office yet - so he's still primarily known as a boxer (and may always be). JM (talk) 16:49, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose His entire political career is two sentences of the article. 162 etc. (talk) 17:14, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Comment This article may be the primary topic for Luke Campbell; the others at the dabpage receive minimal pageviews. 162 etc. (talk) 17:19, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Support changing to Luke Campbell as primary topic per pageviews: here. All other Luke Campbells don't even chart compared to him, and they never have. He's been getting thousands or even tens of thousands of views every
daymonth for the 5 years I looked through - all others usually fail to surpass even 100. JM (talk) 17:50, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose - primarily known as a boxer. Tim O'Doherty (talk) 17:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Support changing to Luke Campbell as primary topic as per JM's suggestion. This is a far wiser choice, Campbell will be known for both things and given the difference in page views this is the logical choice. MJ9674 (talk) 18:09, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose - Fair debate to start but he is still known primarily as an Olympic boxer. That is the case for many other sportsperson politicians. Moondragon21 (talk) 20:37, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Category:Sportsperson-politicians does not include any examples that use disambiguation. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:54, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- @BarrelProof: the subcategories do like Category:American athlete-politicians. I also Support changing to Luke Campbell as primary topic. Sahaib (talk) 12:21, 3 May 2025 (UTC)
- Category:Sportsperson-politicians does not include any examples that use disambiguation. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:54, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Support changing to Luke Campbell as primary topic This makes the most sense. The other Luke Campbell's are quite obscure. I wouldn't support changing the title to Luke Campbell (politician) as he is currently more well known as a boxer although that could change over time if his political career becomes a bigger deal. Removing the (boxer) will avoid having to make any further changes down the road either way. Shrug02 (talk) 20:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose change to politician as he only just got elected and for the moment is probably more well known for his boxing so lets not WP:CRYSTAL yet. However, I do back @Shrug02:'s suggestion of Move to Luke Campbell as I agree, Luke "the Boxer-Mayor" Campbell probably is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC out of the rest of them. The C of E God Save the King! (talk) 16:28, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Move to Luke Campbell per above, seems WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. DankJae 16:42, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- Move to Luke Campbell and move Luke Campbell to Luke Campbell (disambiguation) per above, clear primary topic Chessrat (talk, contributions) 18:54, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- Support moving to Luke Campbell per above. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 01:06, 8 May 2025 (UTC)
Education and Experience
[edit]Given that he's now Mayor for Hull and East Yorkshire it would be far more relevant to know his what his education history and work outside the boxing ring is than his fight history or that he's married to a model. 86.128.19.165 (talk) 07:32, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
