Fire Section

[edit]

After the fires are all said and done (god willing soon), I feel like it should have its own section. IEditPolitics (talk) 03:55, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. I think they're definitely going to turn into a significant moment in the city's history, possibly causing large-scale architectural and even demographic changes.
But let's not rush. We mention Rodney King and the Northridge quake, but each of those gets just a single sentence, and we don't mention OJ or the zoot suit riots. There's a danger of giving the fires more prominence just because they're in our current consciousness. See also WP:RECENTISM and WP:CRYSTAL. --Trovatore (talk) 04:19, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. The current sentence with a link to January 2025 Southern California wildfires is quite sufficient for now. Donald Albury 14:29, 16 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Celebrities

[edit]

I think that the sheer amount of celebrities having to leave Hollywood should be mentioned. Ferrari12ciLiNdRi (talk) 16:09, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest a reliable source that discusses the topic, and we can talk about whether and how to add it to the article. Personally, I'm less interested in how many celebrities have been burnt out, than about how many people have been burnt out. Donald Albury 16:39, 17 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We should, though, mention that so many celebrities had to leave. Ferrari12ciLiNdRi

Hi, anyone from LA (nieghbourhood of University Park)? Could you take photo of this monument?

[edit]

Hi everyone. Are there anyone here from LA, from area of University Park or maybe students of the University of Southern California? Some time ago I wrote article about the Statue of Neil Armstrong (Los Angeles). But it seems there are no photos of it available on Commons. So I was wondering if maybe some student or stauff member (or even just LA resident), could maybe take photo of it? It's located at the campus of the University of Southern California, at the Epstein Family Plaza, near the intersection of Watt Way and Bloom Walk. Here's a photo from Google showing how it looks: 1. San Fernando Valley pic in the infobox

[edit]

The infobox currently has seven pics, none of which are in or show the San Fernando Valley or anything to do with it, this despite the Valley being almost 40% of the city population-wise. I think one of the current photos (the Echo Park one if it were up to me) be replaced for a SFV one, perhaps one of these:

The last lines of both sections Demographics > Housing and families and Demographics > Economy repeat the same fact about the poverty line and median household income of LA in short succession and cite seemingly the same source [156] and [157].

Remove the following fact from the Housing and families section: "According to the United States Census, Los Angeles had a 2019-2023 median household income of $80,366, with 16.5% of the population living below the federal poverty line." Mirosith (talk) 07:36, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Fix hatnote

[edit]

Is it okay if I fix the hatnote in this article to the following below?

This is because of this: I don't think it makes sense to put the Los Angeles disambiguation link in the redirect hatnote. I'd rather just put it in the about template. Hikingboii (talk) 21:39, 9 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I would to request we add a simple paragraph including the current protest in History? Soviet22 (talk) 10:32, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Cannolis (talk) 13:08, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
