i would change mrbeast to a brand, becaus its now more a brand and jimmy is the face of it, i have this link to support it https://www.reddit.com/r/youtube/comments/1fqhh4o/do_you_see_mrbeast_as_a_youtuber_or_a_company/?rdt=59987#:~:text=Mr%20Beast%20is%20an%20enterprise%2C%20he's%20is%20both%20brand%20and%20person. 2A02:1811:941E:DB00:1590:CEF9:137D:F331 (talk) 15:13, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Mr Beast is a brand channel. He has a production team and has various other ventures and has a registered company and employs 1000+ people. Give me a good reason why T series is considered a brand channel and not MrBeast. 2405:201:2E:70B0:8484:7F6F:FEFD:DB29 (talk) 09:50, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

MrBeast is a brand channel.

[edit]

That's it. LoganStylus (talk) 16:57, 11 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Is the term "brand channel" even useful? Every channel on this list is employing scores of editors and graphic designers. Do WP:RS make such a distinction? Gazingo (talk) 00:15, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello mr beast I am a big fan and I love your videos 2600:1700:1D41:2500:7CAB:E2C4:658F:1244 (talk) 14:19, 1 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • What I think should be changed (format using {{textdiff}}): Remove the "Brand Channel" column from the table.
  • Why it should be changed: It's not a meaningful distinction, and as far as I can tell it's not supported by any of the sources.

Remove "Brand channel"

[edit]

I don't understand what this means. MrBeast is very obviously a brand. I don't know why it says otherwise. 51.175.135.101 (talk) 17:54, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I do not believe "Brand channel" should be removed, it is good to have an indicator of if a channel is a brand or not. However, MrBeast definitely is a brand channel. A quote, from "https://www.mrbeastjobs.com/"; "As the largest YouTube brand in the world". It is stated on a site owned by MrBeast that it is a brand. A "non-brand" channel would not even have a site dedicated to jobs like this. Charonfish (talk) 21:41, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The parameter is ill-defined and should be either removed or properly defined in the article body. Although the topic of individual vs brand is well-discussed in RS (like during PewDiePie vs T-Series), our choice of what channels are brands and which are not currently appears to potentially be against our original research policy and the label is applied very inconsistently.
Now, my interpretation is that the list uses “brand = company”. e.g. Musicians whose channels are run by entire teams are not listed as 'brands' because they are dedicated to one individual. Bill Gates owns Apple or Microsoft or whatever it is but would we list his channel as a 'brand'? Probably not. Likewise for MrBeast; as of right now, he is the protagonist in every single video on the channel.
PewDiePie has a team as well like MrBeast (albeit smaller) that I believe peaked at several people including his wife, a manager, two (three?) editors and a legal team, and the PewDiePie name is definitely a brand of sorts, but the channel is owned by him as an individual. ❧ LunaEatsTuna (talk), proudly editing since 2018 (and just editing since 2017) – posted at 23:25, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I think the brand vs individual parameter is ill-defined and should be removed from the list as well. I have actually thought this for a long time. I don't recall inserting it into the table when I first created this list back in 2013, and don't recall ever introducing it to the article. Honestly have never really vibed with it in the table, because of it being OR-adjacent. I think the concept is still worth mentioning somewhere in the prose, but yeah I think you worded how I feel about it very well. Soulbust (talk) 10:57, 5 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Blackpink iş a brand channel

Change blackpink to brand channel 88.249.162.103 (talk) 05:39, 4 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

MrBeast is a brand channel but MrBeast 2 and MrBeast Gaming aren't brand channels?

This distinction makes no sense. 65.78.27.223 (talk) 02:20, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
