additions?

[edit]

Hi.

I am Prof. Lionel Wilson, the subject of a recently-created Wikipedia page. There is one thing I would like corrected, two more awards that could be added for completeness, and a couple of other minor suggestions.

First, I am described as a "geologist", but "geophysicist" would be better.

Under the "Awards" heading you can add N.I. Bowen Award (1983) (this was from the American Geophysical Union) and if it fits the rules Honorary Life Membership of IAVCEI (2023)

If you wish, in the "Career" section you could amend "He wrote many research papers ..." to "He wrote more than 240 research papers ..."

Finally, the second edition of the 2008 textbook "Fundamentals of Physical Volcanology" was published earlier this month by Wiley who now own the original Blackwell imprint.

Thanks, LW 88.97.114.28 (talk) 11:30, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Updated as suggested. Will find a source for the '240' and add this in later. Chaiten1 (talk) 14:46, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for the changes you made.
You may have a problem verifying the number of my publications because I doubt if all of them are listed in one place. I do not bother to maintain up-to-date lists of publications on platforms like Google Scholar. Indeed if you had not written a Wikipedia page for me I would never have bothered to try to get one written, but since you have, thanks!
I could provide you with my own list of my journal papers and peer-reviewed book chapters if you can indicate a mechanism for doing it. 88.97.114.28 (talk) 20:28, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
