– For these, kingdom is not mostly capitalized in sources, so per WP:NCCAPS and MOS:CAPS we should use lowercase. See n-grams for Khasa and book search for Kumaon (because it's not common enough to be in the n-grams). This will bring them in line with most other Indian kingdoms. - Support for Khasa kingdom, Oppose for Kumaon kingdom. Because unlike other ethnic group based kingdoms (e.g. Khasa kingdom, Kirata kingdom, Gorkha kingdom) this is based on a geographical region (Kumaon). I think that qualifies it for capitalisation (e.g. United Kingdom as a proper noun). — Hemant Dabral (📞 • ✒) 03:49, 31 May 2025 (UTC)
- No, article says, "The Kumaon region was joined with the eastern half of the Garhwal region and was governed as a chief-commissionership, also known as the Kumaon province, on the non-regulation system." The name Kumaon is not tied to the kingdom's extent. And even if it was, that would have no bearing on the capitalization question. It's most often lowercase in sources. - What about Garhwal Kingdom? — Hemant Dabral (📞 • ✒) 16:06, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- This article is not about Kumaon Province but Kingdom, you need to find older articles about the kingdom. — Hemant Dabral (📞 • ✒) 16:08, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- When I add "Chand" in the book search to get books about that era, I still see mostly lowercase for the Kumaon kingdom. Dicklyon (talk) 02:47, 22 June 2025 (UTC)

- Oppose. It is the name of a kingdom/country. Even the article says
popularly known as Khasa Kingdom
. We don't say "The United kingdom". TurboSuperA+(connect) 07:49, 9 June 2025 (UTC)- The United Kingdom is not remotely similar to the Khasa Kingdom in sources. Dicklyon (talk) 02:47, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
