I cannot find any information as to the fate of the proposed bill which would've granted Morgan an honorable discharge, if someone could please help, I'd appreciate it. 1Matt20 (talk)
Jones Morgan is a fraud.
(a) He is shown in the 1910 census of Newberry County, SC, enumeration district 105, sheet 16B as a 10 year old. (i.e. born about 15 years later than he claimed).
(b) The Registers of Enlistment, US Army, National Archives Microfilm M233, does not list a "Jones Morgan" enlisting in the pertinent era (it does, however, list hundreds and hundreds of Afro-Americans who joined the 9th or 10th Cavalry.)
