A user reverted my recent edit listing Johnny Cash as having served in the Korean War, which is a correct statement. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1954, during which the Korean War was happening. Just because he did not set foot in Korea does not mean he did not serve in the Korean War. My own grandfather was a Korean War veteran even though he spent his entire naval service stationed in the Mediterranean. HawkNightingaIe175 (talk) 02:17, 22 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
In the United States, to be considered a wartime veteran, you need to have served during a period of war. Even if you do not see combat during that war you are still a veteran of the war if you served during it. HawkNightingaIe175 (talk) 17:12, 26 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
