Requested move 28 July 2025

[edit]

User:Tenshi Hinanawi reverted my bold move citing WP:RMUM. But that guideline states that "If you disagree with a prior bold move, and the new title has not been in place for a long time, you may revert the move yourself. If you cannot revert the move for technical reasons, then you may request a technical move." You shouldn't revert the move just for being bold, like what I'm assuming they did. Anyway, due to pages like Jean Smith (baseball) and Jean Smith (rugby union), it is clear that they are not the primary topic in terms of long term significance. The other member of Mecca Normal, David Lester (musician) is also disambiguated. Sahaib (talk) 18:37, 28 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

There's a fair bit of middle name and surname combining here that makes this non-trivial to judge. Did people ever refer to Jean Kennedy Smith and Jean Edward Smith as "Jean Smith"? At the same time, even if that was a minority usage, the difference in readership is so huge that even that might be enough to warrant the move. --Joy (talk) 09:09, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
