The plot summary seems in doubt...

The conclusion of the plot summary seems specious (but I'd like to see secondary sources on this); having just watched the film, it looks to me like there are statements from at least some of the children rejecting the estate, but they're irrelevant. The intended heir (not yet "chosen", but as revealed, intended all along) has become ineligible due to murdering the owner of the estate, and in any case the choice was never made, in which case the estate reverts to the control of the directors of Finley's company [but who owns the company?]. Since no choice can be made, as Finley is dead,that choice can never be made. Joshua Kronengold (talk) 06:13, 30 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
