Heo Young-ji → Hur Young-ji – This may be uncontroversial, but wanted to be on the safe side. Proposing that this article uses the romanisation of "Hur" instead of "Heo" when referring to the subject.
- The subject seemingly has a preference that her family name is romanised as Hur (WP:NCKO).
- The subject's name is romanised as Hur Young-ji or Hur Young Ji in all official releases, and by the subject's label (both current and former):
- The name is romanised as Hur Young-ji in a majority of English-language reliable sources (WP:COMMONNAME):
Her official fandom name is "Hurming", which is based off of the English spelling of her surname as Hur (see fandom announcement).
Of course there are some reliable sources that refer to the subject as Heo Young-ji, i.e. NME, but I would argue that the subject assumed personal preference takes precedence in cases where WP:COMMONNAME might be questioned. Articles that use unvetted machine translation from Korean often default to "Heo" as that is the standardised South Korean romanisation, but as per WP:KO/RS these should be excluded i.e. ChosunBiz and Maeil Business Newspaper.
