Notability
[edit]OK - I am contesting the speedy deletion of this page.
I must tell you that I am one of the founders of the company, so I am inherently biased. My reasons for contesting the speedy deletion are as follows:
1. Being the first company of its kind in Australia, it satisifies the notability criteria of wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies). There is significant third party coverage of GoGet, if you would like to examine the collected media of GoGet please go here: http://www.goget.com.au/content/category/1/17/88/
1a. In addition, GoGet is the largest company of its kind in Australia and so is notable.
2. If this company is deleted, there are a numebr of other carshare organisations with wikipedia entries who qualify as well. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_carsharing_operators
3. Indeed, Streetcar (the biggest carshare service in the UK) had its speedy deletion tag removed for notability reasons.
Please contact me nic AT goget.com.au if you require verification of my identity or otherwise.
Thanks for your interest and support of wikipedia.

Endorse — I don't believe that being the first commercial organization to provide a service in a particular location makes that organization notable - especially when numerous other services had existed internationally for at least a decade prior to this organization's launch. It is a discriminatory view that engenders preference.
IMO, the relative size of the organization is also irrelevant as the organization may (how to prove?) be the largest today, but not tomorrow. And the burden of proof then becomes onerous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Munique (talk • contribs) 01:19, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Request edit: Update to add Government and University Partnerships Sections
[edit]Hi, I work with GoGet and am suggesting an update to improve article accuracy and transparency. I understand Wikipedia’s COI guidelines and am submitting this here rather than editing directly.
Suggested Updates Below:
[edit]Government Partnerships
[edit]GoGet partners with a number of local councils across Australia to support sustainable transport initiatives and reduce urban congestion. These partnerships often include dedicated car share bays, vehicle trials, and transport strategy collaboration.
The City of Melbourne works with GoGet and other providers to offer on-street car share parking as part of its integrated transport planning.[1]
Liverpool City Council partnered with GoGet for a local car share trial aimed at reducing congestion and offering more flexible mobility options.[2]
In Manningham, Campbelltown, and Whitehorse, GoGet was selected as the operator for council-backed car share trials aimed at reducing car dependency in residential growth areas. In November 2022, Manningham Council launched the trial in Doncaster Hill, citing the area's high population density and limited public transport as key factors driving the initiative. Following its success, the trial was extended until July 2025. [3][4][5][6]
Other councils supporting GoGet's operations with designated car share bays include the Inner West Council, City of Ryde, Hornsby Shire, Woollahra, Randwick, and Glen Eira, each incorporating car share as part of broader sustainability frameworks.[7][8][9][10][11][12] In 2018, Hornsby Shire Council partnered with GoGet to launch a trial in Hornsby and Asquith, marking the first introduction of car sharing in the Shire. The program aimed to offer residents access to vehicles without requiring car ownership, aligning with the Council’s goals for sustainable local transport.[18] In 2019, Inner West Council launched a car share integration pilot with GoGet at selected light rail stations, aiming to improve first- and last-mile transport connections across the local area.[19]
University Collaborations
[edit]GoGet has partnered with several major Australian universities to support on-campus car sharing programs and research into sustainable transport systems. La Trobe University offers GoGet vehicles on campus for students and staff, promoting sustainable travel choices.[13]
The University of Queensland integrated GoGet into its broader sustainability efforts as part of a campus-wide green transport strategy.[14][17] At the Australian National University (ANU), GoGet provides car share access to both students and staff as part of the university’s transport services.[15]
University of New South Wales Sydney has collaborated with GoGet through its Research Centre for Integrated Transport Innovation (rCITI) on the development of an Integrated Intelligent Vehicular System, aimed at improving driver safety, fuel efficiency, and supporting advanced driver assistance capabilities.[16]
