Current status of chemical engineering at Rice

[edit]

The opening paragraph does not mention chemical engineering as a department of the school of engineering. It acknowledges that chemical engineering was taught, "... in {Rice's} earliest days." Has this curriculum been eliminated, or is the article in error? Please clarify. ChemE50 (talk) 15:43, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This school [of engineering "and computing"] now has a new name

[edit]

[some] Updates already done

[edit]

As of this "20 October 2024" edit, (which created the "21:27, 20 October 2024 revision or "version" of this article), the first sentence of the article does reflect a change to the name of the school that is the topic of this article.

The old name was [the] "George R. Brown School of Engineering". The new name is: [the] "George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing".

Actually, that change to the first sentence of this article is correct. So is a change that was [also] made, to the last sentence of the "History" section of this article.

Updates that are still needed

[edit]

1. Change the name of this article (to add "and Computing" at the end of the name).

(PS: I have never changed the name of an article before. It would probably be a good idea to achieve some consensus here on the "Talk:" page first, before going ahead. [right?] ... and before changing the name, someone should probably check [the list of] "What links here" [right?]) (Wait; ... I just did so, and filtering out "Talk:" pages, etc., and just checking the "article" space and the "template" space, I saw only one "What links here" entry. <--[see "2.", below.])

2. Change the entry for this school, in the top section ("Academics") of the ["Rice University"] template at Template:Rice University .

Any comments?
